Surfing at Cape Three Points
The waves at Cape Three Points are rideable roughly 80 percent of the time, offering rideable waves year-round right out in front of your villa. Our small surf shop carries a range of rental boards, and we can arrange lessons with skilled local instructors whether you are standing up for the first time or looking for the best line through the point break.
Cape Three Points Forest Reserve
Established in 1949, the Cape Three Points Forest Reserve spans 51 square kilometers of mature coastal rainforest, bamboo cathedrals, winding streams, and hidden waterfalls. As one of West Africa’s few surviving coastal reserves, it protects rare biodiversity—including Diana monkeys, Colobus monkeys, and endangered butterflies. Decades ago, forest elephants and antelopes roamed these woods right down to the shore. Guided hikes can be arranged upon request.
Cape Three Points Lighthouse Tour
Take a coastal walk to the historic Cape Three Points Lighthouse, built by the British in 1875. Now powered by solar energy, this active beacon marks the southernmost tip of Ghana and has guided maritime traffic for generations. The view from the top offers panoramic views over the ocean and peninsula. The trip takes roughly one to two hours round-trip at a comfortable pace.
Kente Weaving Lesson
Join Niffio, a master instructor from Trinity Yard School, for a private two-hour hands-on workshop in traditional Ghanaian Kente weaving. Learn the intricacies of both Ewe and Ashanti patterns, craft your own strip of cloth, or purchase a piece handmade by students to support their education directly. Materials are provided.
Batik Tie & Dye Workshop
Design your own original textiles alongside Bismark, a Trinity Yard School graduate and master batik artist. You will carve custom foam stamps, apply wax resist, and dye your own fabric or light-colored garments (t-shirts, hoodies, or linens). Please request workshops at least 24 hours in advance.
Drum & Dance Workshops
In 2001, we helped launch a local youth cultural ensemble that has grown into one of the region’s premier drum and dance groups. Guided by master instructors, you can take an energetic one-hour intro class learning call-and-response rhythms and dance steps, or book an immersive polyrhythmic workshop for larger groups.
Akwidaa River Canoe Tour
Board a hand-paddled canoe for a morning journey up the tidal river toward the historic village of Akwidaa. You will glide past coastal mangroves—critical marine ecosystems absorbing carbon and sheltering local wildlife—alongside quiet fishing communities, colorful boats, and footbridges. Keep an eye out for birds, butterflies, and monkeys along the riverbanks.
Fishing with Local Fishermen
Experience the coastline from the water by joining a local fisherman in a traditional boat to fish off the point for red snapper. For an authentic immersion, you can join a larger crew early in the morning to help haul in the coastal nets and experience the daily rhythm of the village sea life.
Snorkel Tour
When conditions align—typically between December and March—the waters around our rocky points offer clear views of pink carpet coral, sea urchins, and local reef fish. Because currents and swells require local knowledge, all snorkeling outings are paired with an experienced local guide and a safety boat off the west-facing rocks.
Princess Town Coastal Hike
Hike the coastal trail through Aketekye—a village nestled on a sand spit between lagoon and ocean—to Princess Town. Here stands Fort Gross-Friedrichsburg, a historical 17th-century fortification and the only German-built fort in Ghana. This full-day guided trek combines coastal scenery with rich regional history.
